The Five Stages of Healing with Nature
Essential oils take effect through inhalation or topical application and are believed to enhance physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. (Wu et. al., 2012). Essential oils support healing in five stages. They strengthen us during each stage and prepare us fro the next level of healing. The five stages are:
Stage One: Healing the Physical Body
Essential oils are powerful physical healers with some essential oils being considered 40 to 60 times more potent than herbs (Schaubelt, 2011). They can assist the body in fighting unfriendly micro-organisms, purifying organs, glands and the body systems, balancing and restoring the body's homeostasis and raising the body's vibration (Stewart, 2003).
Stage Two: Healing the Heart
As we invite nature to heal our physical selves, we are strengthened and energised to proceed onto the heart and enter the emotional realm. While this step is called healing the heart, more importantly emotions and our response to essential oils happens in the brain. Good memories can be associated with certain smells and with the strength from step one, we move into higher vibrations. As the body lives in higher vibrations, lower energies which can include repressed memories and emotions will be released. Stagnant anger, sadness, grief, judgment and low self-worth can be released through the aromatic use of essential oils.
Stage Three: Release Limiting Beliefs
Daily essential oil use in combination with deep breathing, mediation and affirmations can allow you to significantly improve your emotional health. Replace old habits with new one, some oils can be used in combination with professional medical advice for smoking cessation, addiction disruption and esteem building. They say it takes 21 days to break a habit and essential oils and emotional aromatherapy steps in as caretaker for the old habits, encouraging success and strength through the process.
Stage Four: Increase Spiritual Awareness and Connection
There is truth to the claim that "loving yourself teaches you to love others". As we progress through these stages of healing supporting our journey with nature's essential oils, we begin to learn ourselves better and are supported to love ourselves. Strengthing our physical and emotional health lifts us to interact with others in loving and caring ways. You may find yourself with more energy to say "yes" to more social events, but be warned, essential oils don't do our emotional work for us.
They assist individuals in taking an honest look within. They foster the right environment for healing, as in grading it is common mistake to make to pull the weed without pulling the roots, so too will essential oils cleanse tour emotional "top-soil" but it is up to you and your medical professional to pull at the roots. When we combine essential oils with emotional work we reap the fruit of our labour.
Step Five: Fulfil your purpose(s)
Regain a new and positive outlook on life. After several stages of healing you will find yourself more energised to take on life's challenges and hopefully also have found where your heart is drawing you to go. We must understand that healing is a process and as we journey through life we will find ourselves revisiting the healing process., The old must make space for the new. Surrendering to the experience so that we may continue on the path of healing. The more we let go and trust, the more purpose and joy we will find from life.
